A cloud-based investigation case management and intelligence SaaS platform, Clue works with the police, governments, private and not for profit sectors in the fight against crime, corruption and safeguarding. Clue scaled their business throughout the pandemic, seeing increased demand from existing clients, whilst winning significant new contracts in multiple locations.
In a critical growth phase, their priority was attracting great and diverse talent to successfully scale.

The key goals were attracting talent across all divisions of their business; helping embed and improve recruitment processes and practises; and supporting efforts to enhance their employer brand in the tech and south west community.
Hiring 18 people over the first 15 months of our talent partnership, on both a permanent and contract basis. Supporting the scoping and defining of new roles and co-hosting an event in Bristol's largest technology festival.
Partnering with Clue on our Build_up plan, we have supported all their recruitment across Tech, Product, Sales and Commercial departments.
With a dedicated Account Manager overseeing the relationship and taking the lead on managing all talent needs, we have been able to engage a range of specialist personnel across the ISL business to support on specific hires.
We have gone beyond finding talent. From creating job descriptions, creating skills tests, and advising on candidate relevance, we make sure roles and responsibilities are clearly defined internally and externally, helping create that all important team cohesion and fit.
We have made hires across Clue’s Technical, Product, Sales, Customer Success and Commercial functions, along with managing searches for two CXO level hires.
The results to date and trust in the solution and partnership has also helped impress potential investors who need to understand how they will scale their team in line with proposed growth.
On top of the improved employer branding, we have been able to introduce Clue to our network of contacts, where they’ve quickly been able to strengthen their South West tech community links.
Examples include co-hosting a panel event at the Bristol Tech Festival and introducing the executive team into peer group, improving their exposure with other South West scaleup leaders.
A significant benefit both to the success of attracting a strong talent pipeline for Clue but also for helping raise awareness of them in the wider markets, has been the ability to enhance the employer brand.
We've helped manage Clue’s LinkedIn page, start the use of Glassdoor, use branded advertising on wider and targeted recruitment channels. Key has been ensuring a consistent story is told around Clue’s vision and purpose and what it means to be part of their team.
This has led to a fivefold increase in relevant and engaged applicants, compared to contingency recruitment processes; a regular increase in followers to Clue’s LinkedIn page; and enhanced metrics around quality of talent acquisition.
